The Golden State

I am currently in NYC and have been having a very gluttonous time. I am going to post some fabulous cheap eats shortly, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I recently check out The Golden State on Fairfax.


The menu is short and sweet, and made up of mostly sandwiches and sides. While none of the sandwiches are so memorable, the sweet potato fries are quite the contrary; thickly sliced, nice and fried, appropriately sweet, and the bomb! Another drool-worthy addition is a Scoop's ice cream counter. And, the first ever to exist outside the actual shop.



And yes, they serve brown bread.
