(No surprise but) I spent the majority of my recent NYC trip eating. I've been on this huge Chinese kick lately, and being that I stayed at the Hotel on Rivington which is super close to Chinatown, I was delighted to find Fried Dumpling, one of those awesome 5 dumplings for $1 spots.
I previously wrote about Prosperity Dumpling on Eldridge, and I will say Fried Dumpling is fantastic with juicy pork/chive dumplings, but Prosperity is still my fav. The dumplings are a bit crisper and a touch tastier, but both places are bomblicious and great finds for anyone interested in a budget lunch (who isn't these days?). Add a splash of Chinese black vinegar and voila!
