So, I forgot my camera, please pardon my poor Blackberry photos. On Tuesday night I went to check out Susan Feniger's STREET, which opened about two weeks ago on Highland. Usually when a restaurant tries to cook more than one type of food under one roof, I run for the hills (perfect example Hidden). I believe that restaurants should stick to one cuisine and not try to do too much. However, this is not the case for Street, a restaurant that combines Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Indian, and other ethnic foods all on one menu featuring street foods from around the world.

The restaurant space itself is, like the menu, and like Susan herself, interesting. Eclectic, a bit of a hodgepodge random stick figure adorn random walls and the ceiling varies in heigh throughout the dining room.

Start your meal off with a fresh juice cocktail, or opt for a glass of wine served in a super cute recycled glass bottle. For tasty bites, I stuck with the left side of the menu, which is comprised of appetizers and that is your best bet. Taste fun little nibbles like a dessert-y red bean sesame pancake, Indian Vada Dumplings, Mung Bean Pancakes, and Turkish Zucchini Spinach Cake (similar to spanakopita) just to name a few.

Also available are various noodle dishes and curries, and some wood oven roasted meats. The menu is definitely unique to LA, and as a huge fan of street food myself, it's a fun change from the typical California fare. Oh, and I happened to noticed Nancy Silverton dining close by with a group of people. I wonder what she thought...
